Makkit
by ejektaflex
Makkit is a lightweight creative-mode world editing tool for Fabric that lets players make many simple edits quicker.
What it does
Makkit gives creative players an editor built around realtime selection boxes, which other players in a multiplayer session can also view. Simple transformations such as filling an entire selection with one block can be applied in a single step, and selections can be copied, pasted along different axes or mirrored over an axis. A pattern tool repeats blocks in a tiled arrangement, and an edit history keeps every change so it can be undone or redone.
The mod is aimed at building projects and terraforming in creative mode, where the editor covers the most common world editing tasks. Makkit does not replace larger creative editing tools such as WorldEdit, and the author states that the two are better used together. Future versions are planned to add some compatibility, including showing Makkit selections using WorldEdit's own selection outline.
Makkit requires Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin, and Mod Menu is optional for changing settings. Cloth Config API is bundled inside the mod. The mod is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, with public source code, an issue tracker and a wiki. Files target 1.16.5 only, and the latest file is 1.1.1, published on 2023-06-25.
Key features
Realtime selection boxes
Selections are drawn as boxes in the world as they are made, and players can view the selections of others in multiplayer.
Simple transformations
A selection can be filled with a block or changed in one step, covering common edits without manual placement.
Copy, paste and mirror
Selections can be copied and pasted along different axes, or mirrored over an axis.
Pattern tool
The pattern tool repeats blocks across a selection so that a tiled layout is built automatically.
Edit history
Every change is recorded, so the last edit can be undone or redone, which helps when an operation goes wrong.
