Litematica
by masa
Saving, loading and placing building plans is the job of Litematica, a client-side schematic tool with extra functions for creative mode work.
What it does
The mod reads and writes schematic files and renders them in the world so the player can compare a plan with what is built. It covers the main features of an older schematic tool, with the exception of a printer, which the author leaves to extension mods. Required libraries are MaLiLib and Ornithe Standard Libraries. Published for Fabric, Forge, LiteLoader, Ornithe and Rift across 50 release versions spanning 1.12 – 26.3, with snapshot builds as well. Only the client runs it, and the code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
Default hotkeys open the main menu with M, the configuration menu with M + C, and the Schematic Placements list with M + P. Other keys toggle all rendering with M + R, schematic rendering alone with M + G, and the tool item with M + T. The Schematic Verifier opens with M + V, and the Area Editor with the numpad multiply key. Key bindings may differ on non-QWERTY layouts. Rendering does not work properly with shaders in 1.21.3 and later, so shaders should be disabled while schematics are shown. Some servers may flag the placement feature as cheating, so its use should be checked against each server's rules before use.
Key features
Schematic rendering
Loaded schematics are drawn in the world as ghost blocks, with separate toggles for all rendering and for schematic rendering only.
Placement and verification
The Schematic Placements list, placement configuration menu and Schematic Verifier support placing a schematic and checking the result against it.
Area Editor
A dedicated Area Editor menu opens with the numpad multiply key for working on the selected area.
Hotkey access
Direct hotkeys open the config menu, the main menu and the placements list without going through other menus.
Format conversions
The mod supports schematic format conversions, as listed on the project's wiki.

How it compares
Forgematica is an open source port of the same schematic tool for Forge and NeoForge, client-side only and published for 1.16.4 – 26.2. Syncmatica is open source for Fabric and Quilt across 1.16 – 26.3 and runs on client and server, so it covers server-side sharing that Litematica does not.

What the author says
Litematica is a modern schematic mod primarily targeting light mod loaders like LiteLoader on MC 1.12.x, Rift on MC 1.13.x and Fabric on MC 1.14+. There is also a Forge version, but currently only for MC 1.12.2. For later MC versions there are currently only third party ports such as Forgematica.
