Technical Utilities

by KikuGie

Technical Utilities groups small client-side tweaks for Litematica, WorldEdit and similar building tools, and adds an inventory verifier addon for Litematica's Schematic Verifier.

FabricQuiltClient-side onlyCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.19.2 – 26.3

What it does

Players who build from schematics use the Inventory Verifier addon to compare the items a schematic expects with the items actually found in the inventory. Expected and found contents appear side by side, and semantic slot highlighting marks the differences in the inventory overlay. A setting named verifyItemComponents requires item components to match, and the visualize item tooltip helps compare them.

Schematic creators can attach item predicates to a schematic, which specify the properties an item carries. The predicate format covers far more than a plain item id. Beyond verification, the mod syncs a WorldEdit selection and adds a Litematica preview for 1.21 and newer builds. The mod is client-side only, so the server and other players do not need it.

Required dependencies are Fabric API, Litematica and MaLiLib. WorldEdit is optional and adds the selection sync. Files target Fabric and Quilt for 1.19.2 – 26.3, and the code is released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, so it is open source.

Key features

  1. Inventory verifier addon

Adds to Litematica's Schematic Verifier a side-by-side view of expected and found inventory contents.

  2. Semantic slot highlighting

Marks mismatched inventory slots in the overlay so differences can be located quickly during a check.

  3. Item predicates

Lets schematic creators describe the properties an item must carry, using a predicate format that covers many item properties.

  4. WorldEdit selection sync

Keeps the WorldEdit selection in step with the Litematica workflow when WorldEdit is installed.

  5. Litematica preview

Shows a preview of the schematic for builds targeting 1.21 and later.

Questions

Does Technical Utilities need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is required, along with Litematica and MaLiLib. Quilt users run the mod with the same required dependencies.

Does the server need Technical Utilities?

No. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it.

Is WorldEdit required?

No. WorldEdit is optional. Without it, the selection sync feature does not run, while the rest of the mod still works.

Why are some features missing on a server?

Servux and a permissions mod or plugin are needed for server-side nbt queries, and in multiplayer entityDataSync must be enabled.

What the author says

Tech Utils is a mod providing client-side tweaks for Litematica, WorldEdit and other small utilities. This feature only works if your server has Servux (or PCA Protocol in 1.20.1-4), or you have nbt query permissions (e.g. by being an operator or installing a permissions mod/plugin), or you're in Singleplayer.
