by KikuGie

With Elytra Trims, players can apply armor trim patterns to elytra and extend the set of trims available to them.

What it does

Elytra Trims lets an elytra carry the trim patterns that vanilla armor uses, applied through the smithing table. The mod also accepts banner patterns and other decorations, so one elytra can show several visual styles. Trims from other mods or datapacks need custom elytra textures before they display, and non-vanilla elytra may need explicit support from the mod.

The mod is developed by KikuGie and is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later. Its required dependencies are Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin on Fabric, and Kotlin for Forge on Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Cloth Config API, Command Config Lib, KotlinLangForge and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are optional. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. Files cover 1.19.4 – 26.3 for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and snapshot builds are published.

Two other catalog mods build on it, Elytra Trims Extensions and Stackable Elytra Trims, and both need this mod installed to work.

Key features

  1. Trims on elytra

Armor trim patterns can be applied to elytra in the smithing table, changing how the wings look.

  2. Banner pattern decoration

Banner patterns can be placed on an elytra as a further visual layer on top of its trim.

  3. Trial key recipes

A trial key takes the place of the trim pattern in the recipe, opening access to more elytra designs.

  4. Custom trim textures

Trims added by other mods or datapacks display once the elytra has matching custom textures.

  5. Trim requests and issue reports

Players can request new trims or report problems through the project's issue tracker and wiki.
