Forgematica
Forgematica is a client-side schematic mod for Forge and NeoForge, an unofficial port of Litematica that adds creative-mode tools for editing builds.
What it does
Schematics can be loaded, placed and pasted into a world from the client, and the mod adds area cloning, moving, filling and deletion for use mostly in creative mode. Because the mod is a port of Litematica, it was started as a modern successor to Schematica for players who do not want Forge installed on the client.
Forgematica requires MaFgLib on both loaders. Its rendering was developed with shader support in mind: in older builds it works better with Iris, though results depend on the shader pack, and some packs break the rendering. Optifine is much more problematic, so shaders generally cannot be used with Optifine while Forgematica is installed, and Sodium with Iris is the recommended pairing. Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it.
Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across 33 release versions, 1.16.4 – 26.2, with source code and an issue tracker available. The code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the mod was first published in May 2023.
Key features
Schematic pasting
Loaded schematics can be pasted into the world at a chosen position on the client.
Area cloning and moving
A selected area can be copied to another location or relocated within the world.
Filling and deletion
Selected areas can be filled with a block or cleared, which is useful when reshaping a build.
Shader-aware rendering
Schematic rendering works alongside Iris and Sodium, with results that vary by shader pack.
