ContingameIME
With ContingameIME, players can type text through a system input method while playing Minecraft in full screen, an option the base game does not offer for IME input.
What it does
The mod is an unofficial continuation of IngameIME and brings input method support into full screen Minecraft. Input methods used for languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean can compose text inside the game window. A temporary input state change switches to a closed state when the mouse moves and something has already been committed, so typing does not get stuck mid-composition.
It is a client-side only mod, so no server or other player needs it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering 14 release versions across 1.16.4 – 1.20.1. The latest files for all four loaders target 1.20.1, dated 2024-02-07 and marked as alpha. Architectury API, Cloth Config API, Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin and Kotlin for Forge are required dependencies, and the mod is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, so the source is open.
Key features
Input method in full screen
Text composition through a system input method works while the game runs in full screen mode.
Input state reset on mouse move
Moving the mouse while text is committed returns the input state to closed, keeping the typing field usable.
Shared configuration library
Cloth Config API supplies the settings screen used by the mod on both Fabric and Forge builds.
Kotlin runtime support
Fabric Language Kotlin and Kotlin for Forge provide the Kotlin runtime the mod is written in.
