KubeJS Thermal

by KubeJS

Players who script recipes with KubeJS can add Thermal Expansion machines through KubeJS Thermal, which covers the pulverizer, centrifuge, refinery, crucible, insolator, and their catalysts.

ForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.16.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

KubeJS Thermal exposes Thermal Expansion machines to KubeJS scripts, so recipes for the pulverizer, centrifuge, refinery, crucible and insolator can be written in server scripts rather than in data packs. The integration also adds recipe types for the pulverizer catalyst, smelter catalyst and insolator catalyst, letting a script define which catalysts a machine accepts.

The mod depends on KubeJS and Thermal Expansion, and both must be installed alongside it. It is published for Forge only, across seven game versions, 1.16.2 – 1.20.1, with 2001.1.10-build.5 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. The code is under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so it is open source, and public links to the source code, issue tracker and wiki are available.

Key features

  1. Machine recipe functions

Scripts can register recipes for the pulverizer, centrifuge, refinery, crucible and insolator.

  2. Catalyst recipe types

Recipe types for the pulverizer, smelter and insolator catalysts let a script define catalyst behavior.

  3. Server script control

Recipes are written in KubeJS server scripts, so changes apply without rebuilding a data pack.

Use cases

Custom machine recipes in a modpack

A modpack author can change which items the machines process by editing a KubeJS script.

Balancing catalysts

A server owner can add or remove catalyst recipes to tune how the insolator and smelter behave.

Who it’s for: Modpack authors and server owners who already use KubeJS and want to edit Thermal Expansion machine recipes in scripts.

How it compares

Full comparison

Thermal Integration is published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.18.2 – 1.20.1, under the All rights reserved license, so it is not open source, and it runs on client and server. Create Heat JS is a Forge mod for 1.19.2 – 1.20.1, released under the MIT License with the same client and server environment, and it covers Create heat recipes rather than machine recipes.
