Item Pickup Range EX

by Arona74

Item Pickup Range EX lets server owners set how far players collect dropped items, and each player can choose a value within those limits.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Each player can set a personal pickup radius, and the value is stored per player and kept between sessions. Server administrators define a minimum and a maximum in a JSON configuration file, which keeps every range inside limits they choose. When the limits are changed and the configuration is reloaded, existing player ranges are adjusted automatically so none exceeds the new maximum.

The mod is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything, and singleplayer worlds can use it the same way. It requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric on 1.20.1 only, with the 2.0.0 file dated 2025-09-02. Source code and an issue tracker are public, and the code is released under the MIT License, which allows free use, modification and redistribution.

Key features

  1. Per-player pickup range

Each player sets a personal pickup radius instead of the 1.0 default that applies to everyone.

  2. Configurable limits

A JSON file lets the server define the minimum and maximum range that players may choose.

  3. Automatic clamping

Ranges that fall outside newly configured limits are reduced to the nearest allowed value.

  4. Persistent values

Saved pickup ranges are written to and loaded from NBT data, so they carry over between sessions.

  5. Single root command

All functions are reached through one root command, keeping the command list short.
