Health Indicators Fairplay

by NikeyV1

Health Indicators Fairplay is a Fabric client mod that shows health bars above mobs and players, forked from the original mod by AdyTech99 with a few focused changes.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.11 – 26.2

What it does

The core display of health indicators stays as in the original mod. Health and damage state appear above entities in the world, and the look is set through a configuration screen opened in the game. Because it runs on the client only, a player can add it to a single-player world or a multiplayer session without the server installing anything.

The fork removes the Show Through Walls option entirely and drops the healthindicators commands, so all settings live in one in-game screen. The Display Offset range is changed to -5.0 – 5.0 instead of 0 to 10, and the indicator size is limited to a narrower minimum. Builds are published for Fabric on 1.21.11 and 26.2, under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is public. Required dependencies are Architectury API, Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). Mod Menu is optional and gives access to the settings screen from the menu.

Key features

  1. Health indicators above entities

Health bars render above mobs and players, showing current health at a glance during fights and exploration.

  2. In-game configuration screen

All options are changed in one configuration screen inside the game, with no command or file editing needed.

  3. Adjustable display offset

The vertical position of the indicator can be moved between -5.0 and 5.0, lifting or lowering the bar relative to the entity.

  4. Limited indicator size

The size setting is capped at a narrow range, so bars cannot be scaled to an unreadable or oversized value.

Questions

Does Health Indicators Fairplay need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is required, along with Architectury API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). All three must be installed next to the mod.

Does the server need Health Indicators Fairplay?

No. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy.

Which game versions does it support?

Files exist for 1.21.11 and 26.2, with 26.2-1 for 26.2 as the latest Fabric file, published on 2026-06-22.

Can the settings be changed without commands?

Yes. The fork removes the healthindicators commands, so configuration is done only through the in-game configuration screen, which Mod Menu can open.
