Extra Bows
by Unknowneth
With Extra Bows, every bow and crossbow exists in a tier for each material, from wood up to netherite, added through a data pack.
What it does
The data pack adds tiered bows and crossbows to the game, so each material gets its own bow and crossbow. Bows need two more pieces of the chosen material, and crossbows swap their top, bottom and middle parts for it. Crafting recipes follow the material tiers, and crossbow crafting is changed to require wood where iron would normally be used.
Shots gain a bonus from the ranged stat, and strafe speed sets how fast a player moves while using a bow. Durability and enchantability follow the material tiers. Wooden bows and crossbows keep vanilla damage values adjusted to match wooden tools, and every bow can be repaired with planks. Skeletons, parched and piglins spawn with bows or crossbows of a matching tier, and with a server data pack, a crossbow built from diamond or netherite can deal more than 20 hearts of damage.
The server must run the mod, while players may add it on the client. The mod runs through a data pack and a resource pack, and both must be enabled in the world. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the mod is licensed under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. It works alongside Better Bows and uses Extra Bows 3D compatibility.
