Durability Ping
by karlsson1000
Durability Ping warns a player with a red message and a short sound once a worn tool, weapon or piece of armor drops to a set share of its durability.
What it does
The mod watches the durability of items held in the main hand and off hand, and of the helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. When an item's remaining durability falls to the configured threshold, which defaults to 10%, a red warning appears in chat and a short sound plays. Each item triggers the warning only once until it is repaired or replaced, so the same piece does not keep sending alerts.
Unbreaking is taken into account when the mod works out how much durability is left, so the threshold reflects the real number of uses remaining. The threshold can be adjusted in the mod's settings. The mod runs on the Fabric loader for Minecraft 1.21 – 26.2, and only the client needs it, so servers and other players can run without it. It is released under the MIT License, and its source code is open source.

Use cases
Long expeditions
Players away from a base or a smith get a warning in time to swap in a spare tool or piece of armor.
Combat readiness
A warning before a weapon or helmet breaks lets a player retreat or switch gear mid-fight.
Who it’s for: Players who use tools, weapons and armor for long stretches without checking durability by hand, and who want a single alert per item. Server owners need not install anything, since the mod is client-side only.
