Players who want to see latency at a glance can enable Ping View, which shows each ping value in the tab list next to the player name.
What it does
The tab list shows the ping of the local player and of every other player, each value colored according to its latency so high numbers stand out. The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need it and players can join a server that does not run it. Builds cover 1.21.6 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with eleven release versions, and the source code is released under the MIT License.
The display is meant to leave the tab list close to its vanilla layout, and nothing beyond the ping values changes. Fabric and NeoForge builds use Cloth Config for their configuration screen, while Forge builds have no in-game configuration screen. The latest files for every loader are 1.7 for 26.3, published 2026-09-30.

Each ping value in the tab list is colored by latency, so slow connections are quick to spot.
Own and other players
The local player's ping and the pings of other players appear together in the tab list.
Adjustable colors
The color values for each latency range can be changed in the configuration screen on Fabric and NeoForge.
Optional ms suffix
The millisecond suffix after each value can be turned off for a shorter display.

How it compares
Ping Counter is an alternative that runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge and is client-side only, released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with builds for 1.8.9 – 1.21.10. Avies Ping Display is also client-side only and covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 26.3, but its files use the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license and the mod is not open source. PingDisplay is client-side only on Fabric, published under the MIT License for 1.20.1 – 1.21.11.
