Avies Ping Display

by Avie

Avies Ping Display shows each player's connection latency in milliseconds, in the tab list and above name tags, with colours set by the player.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.01.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

Instead of the vanilla signal bars, the tab list can show the exact ping number, with or without the ms suffix. Colours for good, mid, bad, terrible and unknown values are configurable, and the colour can change in steps or blend smoothly between thresholds. Thresholds for each quality band can be adjusted, and the stock values are under 50 ms for good, under 100 ms for mid and under 200 ms for bad.

Name tags can carry the ping as well, with a configurable bracket colour around the value. A placeholder string appears until a ping reading arrives, and its wording is editable, while a switch controls whether that text casts a shadow. The mod runs only on the client, so players install it and servers do not need it. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 7 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the code is not open source, as it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license.

  2. Configurable colour thresholds

Colours for good, mid, bad, terrible and unknown values can be chosen, in steps or as a smooth gradient.

  3. Custom ping ranges

The boundaries between good, mid and bad values can be set, with defaults of 50 ms and 100 ms and 200 ms.

  4. Ping above name tags

Name tags can show each player's ping with a bracket colour that the player picks.
