Divorcesteal

The mod follows the mechanics of Lifesteal SMP, where a player who kills another takes hearts from the victim. Players who run out of hearts are deathbanned, and a system for unbanning them is included. A Revive Beacon restores a banned player and requires 3 hearts and the head of a randomly selected player, and the beacon is activated in order. The author states that the project is unofficial and not affiliated with the original creators.

Players who want to compete under standard rules can be left out of the Participant List, which controls who is subject to the lifesteal mechanics and who can roll Revive Beacons. Beyond the core rules, the mod adds a netherite gear nerf, an option to turn off elytra and totems, and content tied to an April Fools event. It needs Fabric API and PneumonoCore, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is under the MIT License and is open source. Files are published for Fabric and Quilt for 1.21.11, and the wiki explains the full feature set.

Divorcesteal is updated only as needed for its own features and is backported to other versions when needed. The server moves away from a version when support is dropped, and the mod follows the server.
