Distant Worlds
by TANC57
With Distant Worlds installed, players can travel into an added dimension that has its own biomes, materials and mobs, reached through a new crafting method.
What it does
Distant Worlds adds a separate dimension to the world, with biomes, materials and mobs of its own. A new crafting method is used to create the items needed to get there and work within it. The mod was built with MCreator, and it is one of the Magic mods in the catalog, alongside Adventure, Mobs, Equipment, Food and World generation content.
Installation needs Curios API and GeckoLib, both required dependencies. Patchouli is optional. The mod runs on Forge and works in client and server, so the server and every player need it. Forge builds cover 1.18.2 and 1.20.1, and the latest file is 1.1.0.1 for 1.20.1, published on the beta channel. The license is All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

Use cases
Exploring a second world
Players who want more to explore than the overworld can use the added dimension as a destination with its own biomes and mobs.
Server adventure maps
Server owners running adventure content can add the dimension to a shared world, since every player needs the mod to enter it.
Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want a Forge expansion with a new dimension, its own materials and creatures, and a separate crafting method. The mod suits survival and adventure playthroughs, and it needs Curios API and GeckoLib before it starts.
How it compares
Ending Biomes is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that is also client and server and not open source, under All rights reserved. The Unkowned Biome is another Forge option for 1.20.1 with the same environment and license. Armando's Better Material covers 1.20.1 on Forge as well, with the same environment and license. Distant Worlds is the one here that adds a dimension rather than only biomes or materials.
