Dimensional Weather
by crafter312
Dimensional Weather lets a server owner assign a weather cycle to each dimension, which vanilla Minecraft does not allow.
What it does
The mod was written to fix a specific Minecraft bug, MC-186626, which prevents weather from being set separately for each dimension. It gives each dimension its own weather behavior, so an overworld, a nether-style dimension or a custom dimension can keep a different rain and thunder pattern from the others.
The mod is a stand-alone fix that other players can use while waiting for Mojang to address the bug. It requires Fabric API on Fabric and Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) on Quilt. Forge builds are published as well. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files exist for 1.20.1 and 1.20.4, with Fabric and Quilt builds at 1.1-1.20.4 and the latest Forge file at 1.1-1.20.1.
Key features
Per-dimension weather
Each dimension can hold a weather state of its own, so rain or thunder in one place does not spread to another.
Dimension type setup
A dimension is set up through its dimension type JSON file, where the weather behavior is declared for that dimension.
Vanilla cycle required
Only dimensions that already use the standard vanilla weather cycles of rain, thunder and clear can be changed.
Custom ceiling dimensions
Setting skylight to false and ceiling to true in a dimension type disables vanilla weather rendering there, which suits underground or enclosed dimensions.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Requirements
Dependencies declared by the latest file for each loader.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners, modpack authors and map makers who want different weather in different dimensions, and who accept that the dimension must start from the standard vanilla weather cycle.
How it compares
Client Time is client-side only, released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and published for Fabric and Quilt across 1.20.2 – 1.21.11, so it changes only what a player sees on their own client. Climate Control is a client and server mod for Forge on 1.20.1 under All rights reserved, and it is not open source. Fake Weather is client-side only, released under the MIT License, with Fabric and Forge files for 1.16.5 – 26.2.

What the author says
The purpose of this mod is solely to fix a very specific Minecraft bug ( I needed the ability to assign dimensionally-specific weather conditions for a different mod I'm working on called Immersive Backrooms, but I figured I'd put it out here as a stand-alone mod in case other people need this feature as well and…
