CustomMeteorJS
by LirxOwO
CustomMeteorJS lets pack makers reshape the meteorite blocks that Applied Energistics 2 generates, without editing that mod itself.
What it does
Meteorite shell, core and bud blocks can be customized through KubeJS scripts, and weighted block entries set how often each bud appears. Biome-based crater fallout overrides are optional, so a pack can change the material left in a crater by biome. A structure template named custommeteor:ae2 meteorite is provided as a starting point for the layout.
Three working modes are available, and startup scripts apply the weighted rules when the game loads. The mod is aimed at modpack makers who want control over meteorite terrain behavior in a lightweight way. Applied Energistics 2 is required on Forge 1.20.1 and NeoForge 1.21.1, and KubeJS is optional for the scripting side. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Its code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.
Key features
Scripted meteorite blocks
KubeJS scripts swap the shell, core and bud blocks of AE2 meteorites for other blocks.
Weighted bud chances
Each block entry carries a weight, so a pack can set how often a given bud type appears in a meteorite.
Biome crater fallout
Optional overrides change the fallout in craters according to the biome where the meteorite lands.
Template palette
A KubeJS template palette and a structure template help build custom meteorite layouts.

Use cases
Modpack terrain tuning
Pack makers can adjust meteorite materials and bud rarity to fit their own progression and resource balance.
Addon for AE2 packs
Packs that already run Applied Energistics 2 can add custom meteorite behavior while leaving AE2 unchanged.
Who it’s for: Modpack makers and server owners who run Applied Energistics 2 and want to change how its meteorites look and generate, using KubeJS scripts.
How it compares
Atmospheric Phenomena is also a Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.20.1 – 1.20.4, released under the MIT License and open source, but it covers weather-style effects rather than meteorite blocks. Spear Core targets 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License and is open source, yet it is a library and does not change meteorite generation. KubeJS Studio is client-side only with a custom license and is not open source, and it runs on versions up to 26.1.2, so it does not overlap with CustomMeteorJS's server-side meteorite scripting.
