Crusher and Compressor adds two machines that break down and reshape materials, with recipes for crushing and compressing items on Fabric and NeoForge.
What it does
The Crusher works much like a furnace, and it takes nearly every item that can be crushed, using a similar recipe pattern. Some crushed results are worth the trip, while others return only a small amount of sand or a bit of experience. Crushing can also recover useful crafting ingredients from most items, including tools that have already been used.
The Compressor sometimes reverses the Crusher's work, turning stairs and other blocks back into their earlier forms, and it can produce extra blocks along the way. Compressing coal blocks yields diamonds, gold blocks can become emeralds, and a number of other conversions create new things. The process is slow and needs large amounts of input, though it can be faster than mining for certain materials.
Crusher and Compressor requires Fabric API. Roughly Enough Items (REI) is optional and lets players look up the recipes. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Builds are published for Fabric and NeoForge, for game versions 1.21.4 – 26.2, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source.

Almost everything is crushable. Whether it is sensible and profitable to crush some things is quite another matter. You can even crush sand, but you will get only sand, and gain some experience. The Compressor can sometimes reverse the action of the Crusher. And sometimes it can create new things.
