CC: Tweaked
by squiddev
Programmable computers, turtles and peripherals come to Minecraft through CC: Tweaked, a fork that players and server owners script in Lua.
What it does
Computers run programs written in Lua, and the mod provides them with peripherals such as speakers for tunes, monitors for text and images, and modems that link several computers together. Computers can also read and move items between inventories like chests, which makes automated storage and item management possible.
Turtles are programmable robots that can walk through the world, place and break blocks, and fight with a sword. Because turtles move, they cover tasks that a fixed computer cannot reach. CC: Tweaked is a Client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it. It requires Fabric API on Fabric, is released under a custom license that is not open source, and its files cover 1.4.7 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
Key features
Programmable computers
Computers execute Lua programs and can be scripted to control machines, displays and other computers in the world.
Turtle robots
Turtles move through the world, place and break blocks, and can be programmed for mining, building or defense.
Peripherals
Speakers, monitors and modems attach to computers, letting programs play sound, show text or images and talk over the network.

Use cases
Automated storage
A computer with modems and turtles can sort and move items between chests across a base.
Server automation
Server owners script repeated tasks in a shared world, using the same Lua programs for every player.
Who it’s for: Players who want to learn programming inside Minecraft, and server owners who automate builds, storage or item handling. The community tutorials by Direwolf20, Sethbling and Lyqyd cover the basics of the mod.
How it compares
CCCCC is open source under the MIT License and runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with both sides needing it. ClusterComputers is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and targets Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1. CC: Restitched is not open source, uses a custom license, and covers Fabric and Quilt for 1.16.2 – 1.19.3.

What the author says
While computers are incredibly powerful, they're rather limited by their inability to move about. Turtles are the solution here. They can move about the world, placing and breaking blocks, swinging a sword to protect you from zombies, or whatever else you program them to! Not all problems can be solved with a pickaxe…
