Crosshair Damage Indicator

by Luc1fer1o

Crosshair Damage Indicator shows a compact damage popup just below the crosshair whenever a targeted entity takes damage from the player.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

When a matching target takes damage, a small popup with the amount appears directly under the crosshair. Rapid hits are staggered so the numbers can be read one after another, and the final deathblow is recorded even when the entity disappears immediately after dying.

Hits from close combat, from a bow or crossbow, and from projectiles that land later are all covered, as are fast multi-hit effects and damage from modded abilities that act at a distance on nearby targets. The text is plain white. Because the mod is a visual indicator only, it changes no gameplay mechanics, attributes, items or blocks, and it sends no networking commands.

Crosshair Damage Indicator is a quality-of-life mod for NeoForge, Fabric and Forge, published for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 with the latest files for 1.20.6 and 1.21.1. The server and every player need the mod installed. The code is not open source: it is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Damage numbers under the crosshair

A compact popup shows the damage dealt to the entity currently in the crosshair, placed directly below it.

  2. Clean white text

The numbers are drawn in plain white for quick reading during fights.

  3. Staggered rapid damage

Quick successive hits are spaced out so each number stays readable instead of blurring together.

  4. Deathblow detection

The final hit is recorded even when the target vanishes immediately after dying.
