Companion Bats adds a tamed bat that follows its owner, gains levels from fights and can be equipped with items that give it abilities.
What it does
A regular bat is tamed by feeding it pumpkin pie, after which it joins the inventory as an item that can be summoned again later. A Companion Bat Flute recalls the summoned bat to the player, and if the bat is in danger it teleports back to the player while the flute is still in the inventory. The bat starts weak and gains experience from attacking mobs, and a GUI shows its level and stats. Rare Pie o' Enchanting found in treasure chests can be used to train it.
The bat can carry a bundle placed in its third slot, picks up items from the ground into that bundle and sends nearby items to the owner's inventory. It can also wear equipment: nine armor pieces and six accessories, found in treasure chests across several dimensions. Each equipment piece grants a class with its own set of abilities, while most accessories grant one unique ability. Changing the armor alters the bat's appearance. The mod is built for Fabric and requires Fabric API, with Cloth Config API and Mod Menu as optional companions.
