Cobblemon Shiny Days

by Shadymitsu

On chosen weekdays, a server owner can raise the shiny odds for selected Pokémon, in a way that resembles Community Days in Pokémon GO.

FabricNeoForgeServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1

What it does

On the days the server owner picks, the mod raises shiny odds either for specific Pokémon named in the config or for groups of Pokémon. Groups can be chosen by label, such as legendary or generation, or by type, such as water or fire. Rates are set per group, and the mod applies them only to the Pokémon it lists.

A broadcast message can be sent at a customisable interval to remind players that shiny rates are increased for the day. The configuration has five customisable options, and the settings above work together.

The mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing it. It requires Cobblemon and Fabric Language Kotlin, and files exist for Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Weekday shiny events

Shiny rates change only on days the server owner selects, such as Saturday and Sunday.

  2. Per-group rate multipliers

Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, plus Normal-type, legendary and mythical Pokémon, get a 5x rate; Gen 1 to Gen 5 groups tied to a type get 2x.

  3. Customisable reminders

Broadcast messages can be sent at a chosen interval to tell players which rates are raised.

Use cases

Community event nights

A server can run recurring shiny weekends that focus on a set of Pokémon, giving players a reason to log in on those days.

Who it’s for: Server owners who run Cobblemon and want scheduled shiny boosts without changing the spawn tables themselves.

How it compares

Full comparison

Cobblemon Unique Legends is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for 1.21.1 on Fabric and NeoForge, so it covers a different feature area. Pokemon Fair Catch is client and server, open source under the MIT License and also published for 1.21.1, so both sides need it. Cobblemon Randomizer is client and server and released under All rights reserved for 1.21.1, and is not open source.
