Clean HUD

by Pasi

Clean HUD is a Fabric utility that redraws the in-game overlay with armor, active effects, item counts and a clock, using vanilla-style graphics.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source26.1 – 26.3

What it does

Clean HUD displays armor values, active potion effects, item counters and a system clock on the game overlay. Each element can be moved to fixed positions and hidden individually, and a background can be toggled behind the panels. The overlay uses vanilla textures, so resource packs carry over and the elements adapt their look to the pack in use.

The settings screen offers adjustable arrow display and custom item display options, allowing players to choose which counters appear and how they are laid out. Because only the client draws the overlay, the mod changes nothing about how a server runs, and players on any server can use it alone.

Clean HUD is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source. It needs Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) to load. Files are published for Fabric only, for 26.1 – 26.3 across five release versions, with 1.0.1 for 26.3 as the latest file, dated 2026-09-28.

Key features

  1. Armor display

Armor points are shown on the overlay so the current protection is visible without opening the inventory.

  2. Effect display

Active potion and status effects appear on the HUD with their remaining durations.

  3. Item count display

Counters for selected items show how many are carried, updated as the inventory changes.

  4. System clock

A clock reading from the system time can be shown on the overlay alongside game information.

  5. Adjustable positions

Elements can be placed at fixed screen positions, and the arrow and item displays can be tuned in the settings.

  6. Background toggle

A background behind the HUD elements can be switched on or off, so the overlay blends with the game view.
