Day Counter

by FluxFallen

Day Counter places a HUD readout of the current Minecraft day on screen, and the position can be dragged anywhere on the display.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.11 – 26.1.2

What it does

Day Counter shows the in-game day number on a compact heads-up display. The readout updates in real time as the day changes, so the count stays current without any command. The display is a simple, lightweight HUD built to stay minimal and unobtrusive.

The display is positioned by the player. Dragging it moves the readout to any point on the screen, and while it moves, center alignment guides appear to help place it precisely. The position is saved automatically, so it stays where it was left after a restart. Pressing M opens the position editor. The mod is compatible with resource packs and custom fonts.

Day Counter is a Fabric mod that needs only the Fabric loader, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. It runs on the client alone, so a server does not need it and players can join a server without installing it.

Key features

  1. Live day display

The current Minecraft day appears on the HUD and updates in real time as the in-game day advances.

  2. Drag to reposition

The readout can be dragged to any spot on the screen, giving full control over where it sits.

  3. Center alignment guides

Guides appear at the center while the readout is moved, which helps place it exactly.

  4. Saved position

The chosen placement is stored automatically and reused in later sessions.

  5. Position editor

Pressing M opens an editor for adjusting the readout's placement.

  6. Resource pack support

The display works with resource packs and custom fonts, so it can match the look of a texture set.

Use cases

Tracking progress in long worlds

Players in long survival worlds who count days for events or timers can keep the number visible while they play.

Who it’s for: Players who want a minimal, always-visible day counter on the HUD, and who want to place it themselves rather than accept a fixed corner.
