Brightness Plus
by spunkyinsaan
Players who want a brighter view underground or in caves can raise Brightness Plus beyond the vanilla limit, from 0% default up to 1200%.
What it does
Brightness Plus extends the brightness slider in the video settings past its default range, letting players set the level anywhere from 0% (the default) up to 1200%. The change applies to the client only, so the server does not need the mod and players can join servers without installing it. Adjustments are useful in deep mines, caves and night scenes, where a higher level makes terrain clearer to read.
The mod is available for Fabric only, with no Forge or NeoForge build. Files cover 23 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the latest Fabric file is 26.3, published on 2026-10-05. The mod was first published on 2025-09-15 and last updated on 2026-10-05. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Its issue tracker is the public place to report problems.
Key features
Extended brightness range
The brightness setting can go from 0% up to 1200%, beyond the default maximum of the vanilla option.
Adjustable per player
Each player sets the level on their own client, so a shared server does not force one brightness on everyone.
Lightweight design
The mod changes only the brightness control and adds no new blocks, items or menus to the game.
Issue tracker
A public issue tracker is linked from the mod page for reporting bugs and requesting changes.

Use cases
Deep mining
Miners working far underground can raise the level so ore veins and tunnels stay visible without carrying extra torches.
Cave exploration
Players mapping large cave systems can read walls and drops more clearly at high settings.
Who it’s for: Players who play on a client with Fabric and want a brighter display than the vanilla slider allows. Server owners do not need to do anything, since only the client runs the mod.
