Bookshelf

Owner not published

Bookshelf is an open-source code library shared by many mods, with a few extras for players such as debug commands and new recipe types.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 onlyOpen source1.7.10 – 26.3

What it does

The library collects frameworks and utilities that several mods build on: serialization for JSON, network and NBT data, a registry manager with debugging and statistics, utility functions and new ingredient types. Sharing one tested base means dependent mods need less code of their own.

Players get some direct features. Commands like /bookshelf hand show item IDs, and data packs can use new recipe types, for example crafting recipes that damage tools instead of using them up. 77 catalog mods require Bookshelf, such as Enchantment Descriptions, Tips, Open Loader and Tool Stats. It runs on client and server, needs Fabric API on Fabric and is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 only.

Key features

  1. Debug commands

Commands such as /bookshelf hand print item IDs and other debug details.

  2. Damaging recipes

Data packs can define recipes that use durability from a tool instead of consuming it.

  3. Serialization

Helpers read and write JSON, network and NBT formats for dependent mods.

  4. Registry manager

Registries, including non-Forge registry types, get debugging tools and statistics.
