Blur Perfected
Blur Perfected changes how blur and gradient animations behave when a Minecraft screen opens and closes, as a fork of an earlier blur mod for Fabric and NeoForge.
What it does
Blur Perfected applies a background blur to the game's graphical user interfaces. The fork keeps the upstream blur effect and rewrites its animation calculations, which were the source of several bugs. Fixes cover GUIs that update too quickly when a key is held, fade frames that were skipped or reset mid-animation, and blur that stayed on screen after every GUI had closed. The logic is simplified, which the author says adds compatibility and stability.
The mod adds options that the upstream version does not have. Players can pick a separate animation curve for the background gradient and for the blur, and can toggle blur on the book edit, book view, book sign and command block screens, plus the sign edit screen, which upstream never blurred. The background gradient and blur animations are skipped when the difference would not be visible. Blur Perfected is client-side only, so servers do not need it. It is released under the MIT License as open source, is published on Fabric and NeoForge, and requires Fabric API and MidnightLib. Mod Menu is optional.
Key features
Stable GUI updates
Blur stays correct when a GUI reopens quickly, such as while holding the E key.
Continuous fade animations
Fade in and fade out frames are no longer skipped, and the animation no longer resets without cause.
Blur clearing fix
The blur effect is removed once every GUI has closed, instead of lingering on the screen.
Animation curve choice
Background gradient and blur can each use a different animation curve.
Per-screen blur toggles
Blur can be switched on or off separately for book, command block and sign edit screens.

Use cases
Clients on current versions
Players who want smoother GUI transitions can add the mod to a Fabric or NeoForge client on the supported builds.
Who it’s for: Players who used an earlier blur mod and ran into animation glitches, and players who want blur on writing and command screens that the upstream mod leaves clear.
How it compares
Blur Forge (Unofficial) is a Forge and NeoForge blur mod under the MIT License, open source and built for 1.18.2 – 1.20.1, so it does not cover the current line. Smooth Gui is open source under the MIT License, runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and covers 1.20.1 – 26.3. GlideUI is available only on Fabric, for 1.21.11, and is not open source. Blur Perfected is limited to Fabric and NeoForge.
