Biomancy is a Forge magic mod with a biopunk, fleshy art theme that adds tech-magic machines, equipment and mobs for 1.20.1.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.16.5 – 1.20.1

What it does

The mod turns the flesh and organic material of the game into a magic and technology system. Its items, blocks and machines follow a fleshy visual style, and its content covers magic, equipment, technology, cursed items and mobs. Geckolib is required and must be installed beside the mod.

Biomancy works on both client and server, so every player and the server need it. Forge files exist for 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2 and 1.20.1, with 2.9.0.1-alpha.0 as the latest build for 1.20.1. The mod is open source under the MIT License, and its source code, issue tracker and wiki are public. Just Enough Items (JEI) and Pehkui are optional, and JEI is recommended for looking up recipes.

Key features

  1. Flesh-themed machines

Machines such as a digester and a biofactory process organic materials into magic and technology products.

  2. Digester accepts any food

The digester takes any food item as input rather than a fixed list of recipes.

  3. Flesh doors on trains

Flesh doors and iris doors work on Create contraptions and trains.

  4. Enchantment descriptions

Enchantments added by the mod include descriptive text in their tooltips.

  5. Organic recipe inputs

Raw meat and other organic items serve as inputs for the mod's biological recipes.

Who it’s for: Players who enjoy magic and technology with an organic, biopunk look, and server owners who want that content on a Forge server with Geckolib installed.
