Better Flight Revived

Better Flight Revived replaces the plain Elytra glide with a flight model built on takeoff flapping, stamina and braking, for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1.
What it does
Players launch with a sprint and a double jump, then keep the wings active by flapping, which adds controlled lift so flight does not depend entirely on fireworks. Holding the flare key slows the glider before touchdown, which makes landings easier to control. A boost mode gives stronger movement close to the ground, and a stamina meter drains on long flights and is shown on the HUD alongside Elytra durability.
The mod is a revival of the classic Better Flight Forge experience, brought to Minecraft 1.21.1 with both Fabric and NeoForge support. Its behavior can be tuned in the config: stamina recharge speed, hunger and exhaustion costs, a ceiling on limits, and extra wing items. It detects Elytra-style equipment from supported slot and backpack mods. Architectury API, Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are required, and Beans Backpacks, Curios API and Trinkets are optional. Only the client needs the mod, and a server can add it for extra features.
Key features
Takeoff with sprint and jump
A sprint followed by a double jump starts the flight with a smoother launch than the vanilla Elytra.
Wing flapping for lift
Flapping gives active lift during flight, so less of the glide depends on firework boosts.
Stamina and HUD
Long flights use a stamina meter that is shown on the HUD, next to Elytra durability.
Flare braking
Holding the flare key while airborne slows the descent and makes landings more controlled.

Elytra Flapping is a Fabric mod for 1.21.1 that runs on both client and server, under All rights reserved and not open source. First Class Flying is also a Fabric mod, covering 1.21 – 26.1.2, with the same client and server setup and All rights reserved. No elytra flight is a NeoForge-only option for 1.21.1, with the same client and server setup and All rights reserved. Better Flight Revived is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and it works on either side, with neither side strictly needing it on a server.
