Better Craftable Elytra gives Elytra a shaped crafting recipe, so players can make wings at a standard workbench without hunting for an End Ship.
What it does
The mod adds a shaped 3x3 recipe for the Elytra that uses one Diamond as the core, four Phantom Membranes arranged to suggest a wing shape, and two Feathers. Crafting happens on the default crafting table, so no extra block or machine is needed. The recipe gives a non-loot route to flight, an alternative progression path that does not depend on looting an End Ship.
Phantom Membranes are a late-game resource, so the cost keeps the item challenging to obtain even though it can be crafted. The mod suits survival gameplay and modpacks that want a deterministic material-based route instead of random chests. It is published for Forge and NeoForge, with files covering 1.18.2 – 1.21.10 across 14 release versions.
