Bedrock Bridging
by CC_PCT
Bedrock Bridging copies the block placement behaviour of Minecraft Bedrock Edition in the Java version, so a player who learned bridging on Bedrock can carry the habit over.
What it does
The mod aims to reproduce Bedrock bridging as closely as its author could manage without reading the Bedrock source code. Holding the bridging key while walking over an edge keeps the placement line aligned, and a cooldown spaces out consecutive placements. Reverse placement and a reach-around selection, which looks downward, are included as separate options, along with a setting that blocks clicks on GUIs while the mode is active.
Bedrock Bridging is a Fabric mod published across five release versions, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3. Cloth Config API, Fabric API and Mod Menu are required, and the mod is client-side only, so servers and other players do not need it. It is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source, with public source code and an issue tracker.
Key features
Bedrock-style bridging
Placement follows the rules of Bedrock Edition bridging, with the author describing the goal as close, not identical, behaviour.
Reach-around selection
Looking down while placing selects a block position behind the player, which is the usual reach-around technique.
Line placement lock
A placement line can be locked so later blocks stay in the same row while the player moves.
Reverse placement
A reverse placement option places blocks in the opposite direction from the usual one.
Cooldown between placements
A cooldown on line placement limits how quickly blocks follow one another, which the author added for testing.

Who it’s for: Players who learned bridging on Bedrock Edition and want a similar placement feel in Java, and players who build long straight structures.
How it compares
No Reverse Third Person is a Fabric mod for 26.1 – 26.2, client-side only and released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so it covers a different camera setting. Better UI Placement is Fabric-only for 26.2, client-side only, under the MIT License, and is not open source. Pro Placer supports Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 26.3, is client-side only and is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Bedrock Bridging targets Fabric only.
