Banner Claim

by Trep

Banner Claim lets players mark off land in the world by placing a banner ingot block, with claimed areas that can be viewed and renamed.

FabricClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

A claim is created by placing a banner ingot block in the world, which marks the area as belonging to the player who placed it. Claimed areas can be seen by pressing F3, which shows their boundaries, so players can check what is already taken before building. The claim is labelled with a name, and the name can be changed later with a short command that takes the new name as its argument.

Because claims are made with an ordinary craftable block, the mechanic fits survival worlds and shared servers where builders need to keep their work apart. The mod is published for Fabric only, across two game versions, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with 1.8.0 for 1.21.1 as the latest file. It runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Claims from a banner ingot

Placing a banner ingot block in the world creates a claim without any command or separate item.

  2. Visible claim boundaries

Pressing F3 displays claimed areas, so the limits of each claim can be read directly in the world.

  3. Renamable claims

A claim keeps a name that can be changed at any time with a simple rename command.

  4. Shared server use

Claims are stored on the server, so each claim stays marked for its owner across sessions.

Use cases

Shared survival builds

Players on the same world can each mark their own area so neighbouring bases do not overlap.

Community servers

Server owners can give members a clear way to reserve land without an external claim system.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want a claim system built into a block placed in the world, for survival worlds and multiplayer servers that run Fabric 1.20.1 or 1.21.1.

How it compares

Full comparison

IchorClaim is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 that also runs on client and server and is released under the MIT License, so it covers an older version than Banner Claim. SettleCraft is server required with client optional, under the MIT License, and targets 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, so it reaches newer releases than Banner Claim. Claims is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later and works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, so it supports more loaders.
