Trep's Cars

by Trep

Trep's Cars adds drivable vehicles to Fabric worlds, with a Car Crafting Table, steel ores and parts for building a custom car on 1.20.1.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Players build their own vehicles at a Car Crafting Table. Car bodies, wheels and paint colors can be chosen from a selection of styles, and the parts are combined so each car reflects the owner's taste. Steel is found by digging into the earth for steel ores, then smelted from raw iron, blaze powder and charcoal to make the raw steel used in stronger car bodies. A car stays incomplete until it has the right components.

Installation covers the server and each player's game. It is published for Fabric only, with one build, 0.9-1.20.1, covering 1.20.1. Geckolib is required, and players should make sure the latest GeckoLib version is installed before using the mod. Trep's Cars is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Car Crafting Table

A dedicated station where cars are assembled from bodies, wheels, paint and other components.

  2. Steel ores and raw steel

Steel ores are found underground and smelted with raw iron, blaze powder and charcoal into raw steel.

  3. Customizable cars

Body styles, wheels and paint colors can be mixed and matched so each car has its own look.

  4. Drifting control

Use cases

Car collections

Players can assemble a fleet of differently styled cars and drive them on their own roads.

Who it’s for: Players who want driving and vehicle crafting added to a survival or creative world, and server owners who want shared cars for their players. Both sides need the mod, and Geckolib must be installed on both.

How it compares

Full comparison

Slot Cars is a client and server Fabric mod under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.8, so it targets a much later version than Trep's Cars. Car Traffic Generator and The Car Engine are both server-required mods available on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files 1.17 – 1.21.4 and 1.21 – 1.21.4. They add traffic and engine behavior rather than player-built cars.
