Armor Trim Effects

by Aolu

With Armor Trim Effects installed on a server, trimmed armor gives its wearer stat bonuses based on the trim material applied to it.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalMIT License1.21.4 – 1.21.11

What it does

The mod is a datapack that attaches special effects to armor trims, so the material used in a trim sets the bonus. Effects listed by the author include luck, block interaction range, armor and armor toughness, a level of hero of the village, mining speed, attack damage and attack speed, extra experience orbs, and reduced time spent burning. The values are set in the datapack files rather than in a config screen.

Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the datapack is also published for servers. Files cover 1.21.4 – 1.21.11 across eight release versions, the newest being 1.0.6 for 1.21.11. The code is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Trim material effects

Each trim material carries its own effect, so applying a different material changes the bonus on the same armor piece.

  2. Combat and mining bonuses

Effects include attack damage and attack speed increases, plus a mining speed bonus for tool users.

  3. Armor and luck bonuses

Armor, armor toughness and luck values can rise for the wearer, with block interaction range extended as well.

  4. Experience and village effects

Extra experience orbs and a hero of the village level are included, along with reduced time spent burning.
