Effective Trim Materials
by x7bbbbbbb
Effective Trim Materials gives armor trim materials beneficial effects, so armor with a trim applied grants bonuses such as extra armor and a longer safe fall distance.
What it does
Each armor trim material added by the mod alters player attributes when the trimmed armor is worn. The bonuses cover armor, attack knockback, safe fall distance, step height, attack damage, attack speed and movement speed, and a material can also raise the experience gained from mining or combat by a quarter. Most of the effects change attributes directly rather than running custom logic, which keeps the behavior simple to follow.
The trim effect is shown in the tooltip of each armor smithing template, so a player can check what a material does before applying it. A config file lets server owners and players change the values of the effects and add new trim materials, and the author says future releases will extend the list.
The mod is client and server, so the server and every player need it. It requires Fabric API and works alongside You're in Grave Danger as an optional dependency. Files are published for Fabric only, for Minecraft 1.21.1, and the latest build is 1.1.2 from 2026-09-22. The code is open source under the MIT License.
