Boss Tweaks
by x7bbbbbbb
Boss Tweaks changes how bosses in Fabric worlds are healed, shown and armored, and runs on a server alone without requiring any change on the player side.
What it does
Boss Tweaks heals bosses that nearby players have defeated, and it can attach configurable bossbars to entities that lack one, including vanilla and modded bosses. The search radius, the alive-player check and the distance at which a bossbar is visible are all set in the config. Until a boss has lost at least one point of health, its bossbar can stay out of sight; seven colors are available for the bar: purple, red, white, yellow, blue, green and pink.
The mod also applies armor scaling and some balancing changes that suit multiplayer servers. Which entities receive the tweak is decided by four dedicated tags located under the boss regen entity type tags, and the default selection covers the c:bosses tag. Configuration can be done through a datapack, enabled by default in new worlds, or through the Global Packs setup. Boss Tweaks requires Fabric API on Fabric 1.21.1, and it is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Boss healing
Bosses regenerate health while players near them have defeated a boss, with the radius set in the config.
Configurable bossbars
Bosses without a bossbar can receive one, and the color, visibility distance and hidden-until-damaged state are all adjustable.
Armor scaling
Armor on affected bosses scales with the tweaks, adding some balancing to fights on busy servers.
Entity tags
Four dedicated tags pick the entities the tweak applies to, so a server can extend or narrow the set.
