Almanac

by frikinjay

A shared code library, Almanac holds loader-independent functions that its author's other mods draw on, so common code lives in one place instead of being copied into each mod.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

Almanac holds code that is mostly independent of the loader and is reused by several mods from the same author. Keeping that code in one library avoids duplicating it across each mod's own source. The library is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and it runs server-side only.

Most of the library itself adds no visible content. Its one direct behavior is a fix for empty tags that caused items to fail to stack. On Fabric and Quilt, Fabric API must be present, while Cloth Config API ships inside the mod. Files cover 1.20.1 – 26.3 and snapshot builds are published. The license is GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Shared library code

Loader-independent code used by several mods from the same author, kept in one place.

  2. Empty tag fix

A fix for empty tags that caused some items to be non-stackable.

  3. Bundled Cloth Config API

Cloth Config API is included inside the mod, so it is not installed separately.

Questions

Which dependency does Almanac need on Fabric?

Only Fabric and Quilt builds require Fabric API, so it must be installed next to Almanac on those loaders.

Does a server need Almanac installed?

Yes. Being server-side only, the server must run the mod, and the mods that use it need it on the server.

In the catalog

Almanac is one of 3,514 Library mods on ModsFinder, and one of 2,348 Library mods for Fabric. 8,071 mods support Minecraft 26.3.

What the author says

Almanac is a library used by my mods with mostly loader independent shared code between multiple mods to avoid duplication of code. Almanac by itself does not add much other than a fix to empty tags leading to non stackable items.
