Alex's Mobs
by AlexModGuy
Survival worlds gain 89 new mobs from Alex's Mobs, ranging from real-world creatures such as grizzly bears and roadrunners to fictional ones like the endergrade.
What it does
Most of the added mobs are real-world creatures, including grizzly bears, roadrunners and orcas. The rest are fictional, among them the endergrade and the bone serpent. Every creature is described as having a purpose, either a unique drop, a mechanic or a function, and none of them exist only for decoration. Their presence also makes some biomes feel more populated. Models, textures, animations and AI are styled to match the latest vanilla additions.
Many mobs leave items that can be crafted into weapons, arrows, potions and armor with special effects. Rare or endangered animals, such as the komodo dragon and the hammerhead shark, release their items when they carry out a particular action instead of only on death. Most real-world mobs are not hostile by default but can be provoked by distance or by being attacked, similar to polar bears and piglins in vanilla. Most of the fictional mobs are hostile. Both the server and each player need it, since the environment is client and server, and it requires Citadel. Forge and NeoForge builds cover 6 release versions, 1.16.5 – 1.20.1.

Modpacks
Biome, block, mob and dimension mods can sit alongside it, and it fits both vanilla-style and heavily modded packs.
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack builders who want a large set of new creatures with crafting drops and fine control over where each mob spawns.
How it compares
Naturalist is also a Client and server mob mod for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.18.2 – 26.3, but it uses a custom license and is not open source. Bears Update is a Forge-only Client and server option for 1.19.2 under All rights reserved. Ocean Giants is Server-side only, under the MIT License, for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 on Forge and NeoForge, so it covers a different version range and needs no client install.
