Yes Steve Model
by TartaricAcid
Yes Steve Model replaces the default player figure with custom Bedrock-style models and animations that players can switch between in game.
What it does
Players can choose from several figures, including the default figures that follow the player's skin. A category button in the game switches between all models, models that have been authorized, and the vanilla ones. Model files are placed in a set folder, and a reload command loads and synchronizes them, so no configuration files need writing. The core uses Minecraft Bedrock Edition model and animation files.
From version 2.2.2 onward the encryption and rendering core is written in C++ and protected with VMP, which the author says improves rendering speed and security. Earlier pure Java releases ran on the three main loaders and on mobile platforms. Some antivirus programs may flag the C++ builds as false positives despite digital signatures. Yes Steve Model is available for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with builds covering 1.16.5 – 26.1.2, and it is published for 1.21.1 on Fabric and 1.20.1 on Forge. Its NeoForge build for 26.1.2 is dated 2026-05-02.
Key features
Automatic model sync
When players join a server, the models are sent to their client automatically, so each player sees the same set.
Encrypted model files
Models sent to clients are encrypted binary files, which makes them harder to copy from the game files.
Model authorization
Models can be authorized separately, and only an operator can grant a player access to a specific model.
Model category switching
A button in the game cycles through all models, authorized models and the vanilla figures.
Custom model folder
Custom models, textures and animations go in a dedicated folder and load after a reload command, with no config files.
