World Map
by Runterya
Players who want a full-screen view of explored terrain can use World Map, a Fabric client mod that keeps a saved, vanilla-style map of the areas they have visited.
What it does
The map opens full screen, can be panned and zoomed out, and shows the coordinates under the cursor. Terrain colors follow the blocks and biomes, with depth shading, and water and lava are drawn as well. Discovered areas are saved locally, so they stay available when a player returns to them later.
In the Nether, the map can be switched between a view of the bedrock top and vertical layered views, with layers following the current height or set manually in 8-block steps. A cross-dimension marker shows the projected location in the Overworld or Nether using the 8:1 coordinate ratio. Modded dimensions can declare their own layered maps through a JSON file. Map display filters choose whether to show areas explored by other players, everyone, or a selected player.
Server-side saving supports a shared co-op map: a server and its clients can both run the mod to share one world map. The mod requires Fabric API, Mod Menu is optional, and it is released under the MIT License as open source for 26.1.2 – 26.3. The author notes that the mod is still in development and that the current target is 26.1.2, and asks players to report issues on other game versions.
