Two Dimensional

Two Dimensional removes the third dimension from the game, so players can live out a flat, two-dimensional world on a plane they choose.
What it does
The mod turns the view into a two-dimensional plane. A player picks which plane to stand on and can rotate it to a slanted world, and can interact with the layer directly behind the plane, which gives two full lanes of interaction. World generation stays exactly as vanilla builds it, since the mod never alters terrain. It disables the rendering of certain blocks outside the plane, so the flat view stays readable.
Two Dimensional also widens the camera. The viewport in two dimensions can feel too small, so the mod increases the field of view and lets the player see farther out. The mod was made for a one-off modding competition hosted by ItsJim, so updates and bug fixes are likely to be limited.
Installation needs Fabric API. The mod uses Satin API for its shaders, and that dependency is included as a jar-in-jar, so no separate install is needed for it. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.1, and the code is open source under the MIT License.

How it compares
Dimensional Roulette is client and server, open source under the MIT License, and built for 1.21.1 – 1.21.4 on Fabric, so its version range does not overlap with the 1.20.1 build of Two Dimensional. Dimensional mixer runs on Fabric for 1.20.1 but is server-side only and is not open source, so players can join without installing anything. Create: Dimensions is client and server, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and runs on Fabric, Forge and Quilt for 1.20.1.
