Jim Mech
by Mishkis
Jim Mech adds a piloted mech to the game, with a mechanical arm for grabbing and throwing blocks, a machine gun in its arms and a jetpack for flight.
What it does
Once the mech is placed, a player right-clicks it to climb in. Left-clicking a block picks it up, a second left-click sets it down elsewhere, and holding right-click and releasing throws the block. Holding right-click fires the machine gun in the mech's arms, which the mod presents as a quick way to destroy things. Holding space activates the thrusters so the mech can fly.
Jim Mech is built on Fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1, released as a single version, 1.0, on 2025-09-08. Geckolib is required and must be installed alongside it. The mod runs on the client and the server, and every player needs it too. The source code is public, and the mod is released under the MIT License. It was made for a one-off ItsJim modding competition, so the author notes that updates are less likely.
Key features
Piloted mech
A placeable mech that a player enters with a right-click and controls from the inside.
Block grabbing and throwing
The mech's mechanical arm picks up a block, carries it and throws it, and it works with bedrock as well.
Machine gun
The mech's arms carry a machine gun that fires while right-click is held.
Jetpack flight
Holding space fires the thrusters, letting the mech soar over the terrain.

Use cases
Combat and demolition
Players who prefer fighting with heavy equipment can use the machine gun and the throwing arm against enemies and structures.
Moving blocks
The grab-and-throw arm can relocate blocks across a build without breaking and replacing them by hand.
Who it’s for: Players who want a vehicle with weapons and a grabbing arm rather than a plain transport, on single-player worlds or servers that have Geckolib installed.
