TieredZ
by Globox1997
With TieredZ, reforging an equipment piece at an anvil can raise its item tier and add modifiers that give extra stat bonuses and abilities.
What it does
Equipment made with TieredZ receives a tier and a modifier that adds stat bonuses and abilities. Reforging at an anvil is the way to raise the tier: the left slot takes the tiering item material, with flint used by default when no tag-matched item is present, the middle slot takes the tiering item, and the right slot takes an amethyst shard. Reforging also raises the chance of landing a better tier.
The mod is a Fabric fork of Tiered, which was inspired by Quality Tools and originally made by Draylar; the author published this fork with permission. It needs Cloth Config API, Fabric API and LibZ on the client and the server, because the environment is client and server. Five other catalog mods require it, including several TieredZ add-ons and Sweat to Fit.
The mod is open source under the MIT License. Files cover 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the latest Fabric file, 1.3.8+1.21.1, targets 1.21.1 and was published on 2026-10-10. The author has no plans for a Forge version.
Key features
Tiered equipment
Equipment pieces are assigned an item tier that determines their stat level.
Modifiers with bonuses
Each tiered item carries a modifier that adds stat bonuses and special abilities.
Anvil reforging
An anvil combines a material, a tiering item and an amethyst shard to reforge gear into a higher tier.
Luck-based tier chance
Reforging raises the odds of obtaining a better item tier, so repeated attempts can improve a piece.

Use cases
Progression in survival
Players can improve their gear over time by reforging it instead of crafting a new set each time.
Modpacks with add-ons
Pack builders can pair the base mod with its add-on mods, which depend on it for tiered gear.
Who it’s for: Players who want tiered equipment with modifiers on Fabric, and server owners who run a modded Fabric server with Cloth Config API, Fabric API and LibZ installed.
How it compares
Tiered More runs on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1 only, is client and server, and is open source under the MIT License.
