The One Probe

Holding the probe in hand shows on-screen information about the block under the crosshair, in place of a tooltip that stays on screen all the time.

What it does

The One Probe shows the name of the block being looked at, the mod that adds it and the tool used to harvest it. While the probe is held in the main hand or off-hand, these details appear on screen. Blocks that store RF energy also display their stored amount, and sneaking over an inventory such as a chest lists the items it holds. Settings can switch the information to permanent display, as WAILA does.

The mod is a more immersive alternative to WAILA and is required by 4 other mods, including IC2Classic, TOP Addons, The One Prode Stage and Ex Nihilo: Sequentia - TOP Addon. It must be installed on both the client and the server. Each feature can be switched off in the configuration, which suits players or modpacks that want less information on screen. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 36 release versions, 1.9 – 26.2, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
