Target Dummy adds a craftable dummy block that players hit to measure attack damage, in a setup where the server must run the mod and players may leave it out.

What it does

Players craft a target dummy and place it in the world, then strike it to see how much damage an attack deals. The mod is aimed at testing weapons and combat setups without fighting live mobs. Installation on the server is what matters for it to run, while a player may leave it out and still join.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 17 release versions, 1.21 – 26.3. The source code is public and the code is covered by the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, so the project is open source.

Key features

Craftable dummy
The target dummy is made from a crafting recipe, so any player can obtain one in survival without a command.
Attack damage readout
Hitting the dummy shows the damage dealt, which lets a player compare weapons and enchantments side by side.
Server-side setup
Servers run the mod; players who join without it can still use dummies placed by the server.

Does Target Dummy need to be installed on the client?
