Stringer Things adds five string tools, from a pickaxe to a mace, plus string boots, for players who want to dig and fight with string.

What it does

The mod adds a set of tools and armor made from string: a pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, sword, mace and boots. Each item comes with a built-in silk touch enchantment, so blocks that need silk touch can be collected with it. The tools work on the blocks that regular tools handle, and they are sturdy enough for regular use.

Equipping the string boots lets a player walk through cobwebs without being slowed. The mod is an idea-driven build of a concept video, and its author notes say later versions may expand the set. Stringer Things requires Fabric API and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need the mod. It is released under the MIT License and is open source, with files for 1.19.2 – 26.3 on Fabric and Quilt, and the latest file is 1.6.1+26.3 for 26.3.
