Streamotes: Streamer Emotes
by Xspeed
Streamotes lets players type emote codes from Twitch, BTTV, FFZ and 7TV into Minecraft chat and see them rendered as images in place of the text.
What it does
Streamotes reads emote codes from streaming and emote services and draws them inside the chat window. Animated emotes play in the chat, and emotes with non-standard widths or zero-width overlays are handled too. Chat completion is bound to the Tab key by default, so a partial code can be finished without leaving the keyboard. Turning up line spacing in the chat settings is suggested to make emotes easier to read.
The mod is client required, and the server can optionally add its own configuration, synchronized through either the Fabric mod or the Paper plugin. After a configuration change, a restart is needed unless the streamotes reload command is sent, which requires operator privileges and the xeed.mc.streamotes permission. Streamotes requires Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and Mod Menu is an optional companion for its settings screen. The mod is published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt across 25 release versions, 1.19.4 – 26.3, and the code is under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Updates to an edited emote are picked up with the streamotes force-reload command.
Key features
Streaming emote codes
Codes from Twitch, BTTV, FFZ and 7TV are converted into the matching emote images as they appear in chat.
Animated and odd-width emotes
Animated emotes play in chat, and emotes with non-standard widths or overlaying zero-width parts are drawn correctly.
Tab completion
Emote names can be completed with the Tab key, which is the default binding.
Local emote cache
Fetched emote images are kept in a cache inside the Minecraft installation so they stay available between sessions.
Server configuration sync
Server owners can set emote options that are synchronized to players through the Fabric mod or the Paper plugin.
