Step
Step gives boots a Stepping enchantment that lets a player walk up one full block without jumping, and a Stepping II level for slabs and half-height steps.
What it does
Stepping is an enchantment for boots. It is obtained from an Enchantment Table in the same way as Depth Strider, and it sits in the vanilla experience without changing how jumping works. The first level lets the wearer climb a full block, while the second level covers slabs and half-height steps. Since version 1.21.7 the enchantment has multiple levels; versions before that only include a single, non-tiered Stepping enchantment.
Step also adds a Leap enchantment for the same boots, which gives a dash or a double-jump. Leap can be applied to the same boots as Step, so one pair can carry both. The mod is listed as compatible with Frost Walker and Depth Strider, and it complements other movement-focused enchantment mods. A treasure enchantment found around level 20 and above on diamond boots serves as a reference for how rare the item is. Step runs on client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, for game versions 1.19.3 – 26.1.2 across ten release versions, under All rights reserved.
