Stack to Nearby Chests

by xiaocihua

Stack to Nearby Chests brings Terraria-style quick stacking and restocking to containers within reach, and runs on the client alone.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.18.2 – 26.2

What it does

Quick stack moves every item in the player's inventory that matches something already held in an open container into that container. Restock works the other way, topping up stackable items in the inventory with stock taken from the container. Both actions can be extended to every openable container within the player's reach, so one click can sort a whole storage area.

Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it and players join without installing anything extra. It requires Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional for opening its settings from the mods list. The code that loops over nearby containers is adapted from the clientcommands mod. The code is under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the project is open source, with its source code and issue tracker public. Files target Fabric for 1.18.2 – 26.2, with 28 release versions in that range and 0.5.19 as the latest build for 26.2.

Key features

  1. Quick stack

Items already present in the open container are topped up from the player's inventory with one action.

  2. Restock

Stackable items in the inventory are refilled to a full stack using items taken from the container.

  3. Nearby container stacking

Quick stack can run on every openable container within the player's reach rather than only the one open.

  4. Nearby container restocking

Restock can draw from all openable containers within reach, so stock is gathered from several chests at once.

  5. Options screen

Left Ctrl, S and C open the mod options, where appearance, behavior and key mappings can be changed.
