Soul Armory

by Ice_Kube

Soul Armory adds Soul, a combat resource that builds with each hit a player lands and makes the next hit harder to take, for Forge on 1.20.1 – 1.20.6.

What it does

Equipment in Soul Armory gathers Soul when the wielder lands hits, and that Soul strengthens the next attack. Weapons start slow and ramp up over sustained fights, and Soul also raises damage, draw speed and movement speed. Stored Soul can be used to fire skills like homing arrows and piercing blade waves, or to switch the wielder into a tank state. Soul drains away once the player stops fighting. Equipment is forged at a combat crafting table, and the Warden is the first boss the mod was tested against. The mod runs on client and server, so both need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Patchouli is an optional dependency that can add in-game documentation.

Key features

  1. Soul from hits

Each hit that lands adds Soul to the equipment, and stored Soul makes the following hit harder.

  2. Spendable active skills

Active skills drawn from Soul include homing arrows, piercing blade waves and a tank state that protects the wielder.

  3. Forged combat equipment

Weapons and armor are crafted at a dedicated combat crafting table and gain bonuses as sustained fights build Soul.

Souls Combat HUD is client-side only and open source under the MIT License, for Forge 1.20.1, so it adds a display rather than gear. Soul Gauntlet is not open source, runs on client and server, and targets Forge 1.20.1 only.

Does Soul Armory need Patchouli?

What the author says

This is a combat mod built around a snowball mechanic: every hit you land feeds Soul into your equipment, and every point of Soul makes the next hit harder. Weapons start slow but ramp up through sustained combat. As Soul accumulates, your damage, draw speed, and movement speed all increase. You can also spend Soul…
